Pirates of The Caribbean 4 in 2011 Johnny Depp is back as Jack Sparrow
Walt Disney Pictures succeeded in both reviving the pirate movie genre and creating a successful franchise with Pirates of The Caribbean. So no wonder they don't want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs and try to reap as much profit as they can from it.
That's why it has been decided to produce Pirates of The Caribbean 4. The movie is slated for a 2012 release. Update: the movie Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is now scheduled for a release in 2011!
Quite sad we have to wait so long but I bet it will be worth it!
Let's try to see what to expect from Pirates of the Caribbean 4:
Director Gore Verbinski, who was in charge of the first three opus of Pirates of the Caribbean. He is still attracted to the idea of using modern technology to resurrect a genre that had disappeared after the Golden Age of Hollywood. But he does want Pirates of the Caribbean 4 to be a let down movie, he was quoted saying:"[...] the big danger is diminishing the brand [...] it would have to be a tale worthy of telling"
And for him to return he noted that
"I would start fresh and focus on the further adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow."
Director Gore Verbinski has not yet confirmed his commitment but I'm quite sure he will be attached to the fourth Pirates of the Caribbeans movie one way or anoter.
It has been reported that Keira Knightley does not wish to continue playing her character of Elizabeth Swann, she prefers to commit to different projects.
About Orlando Bloom who had the role of Will Turner: well, if Keira Knightley does not come back the dude is useless. Actually I'd rather not see him come back: it will be more time on screen for Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow!
Johnny Depp has officially signed on for Pirates of the Caribbean in September 2008. I am so glad he is back as the pirate Jack Sparrow! I agree with Director Gore Verbinski: Pirates of The Caribbean 4 should focus on Jack Sparrow. I really like this facetious character: if it was not Johnny Depp's performance I doubt the Pirates of the Caribbean would have ever taken off to the box office.PLOT OF PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4
No details of the plot officially announced yet. But according to the book The Art of the Pirates of the Caribbean, the proposed story for the fourth film was for Sparrow and Barbossa to meet up in the newly founded New Orleans, Louisiana, before they sail to find the Fountain of Youth together.
One may imagine that he's getting bored on his ghost ship and tries to explore new horizons but would need the help of the fountain of youth to survive...
Nothing confirmed yet though, the plot may still be completely different!
Really hope Walt Disney Pictures will carry out this project: Pirates of The Caribbean 4 must be produced for the fans!

I hate it. you can't do a fourth pirates of the caribbean without keira and orlando. It won't be a fourth it will be the beginning of a whole new series. Not to mention it's going to take way to long.
Personally, I think they should do like a prequel, rather then a sequel. I'm afraid that a sequel might kill the whole thing.
I feel like a Pirates without Davy Jones isn't worth watching. Sure he wasn't in the first one, but the second and third movies were so much more entertaining with him in them. Sure, he "died" in the last one, but his spirit at the very least shoudl play a role in the fourth movie. Yes, Jack Sparrow is the star and he's fantastic, but Davy Jones made the movie worth seeing more than once.

Yes anonymous, your right, even though they wont be in the fourth and fifth potc movies, they will stil be potc live action-special-visual effects big budget disney movies!=).
jack sparrow is the only reason to watch that movie! i am glad they get rid of the whole soap opera drama between will and elizabeth, and that they move more into a just a pirate, raw movie. as for davy jones, that's a copy of treasure island so i think something new will be much more interesting.
I have seen a wedsite that says they want a lady jack sparrow.I think they should put a lady sparrow on there.I think it would be cool for jack to have like a sister or like a daughter he doesn't know about.I'm not saying if the director put a lady sparrow in there that jack would care for her deeply!That would ruin it beacause when you watch pirates of the caribbean yopu expact that jack sparrow is full of rum or doesn't really LOVE SOMEONE DEPPLY!!!I think that it would be cool to have a lady on there because naomie harris[ tia dalma ] in world's end like expoded into crabs or something...i don't think she'll be in pirate's of the caribbean 4.Then there is keira knightly who isn't going to be in it which only leaves like girls who slap jack in the face! which means those girls are the only women roles.and omg you basically only have joshamie gibbs and captin barbossa and the wonderful jack sparrow from the origanal cast...orlando is out, keira is out, who will replace them?
I like the idea of a sequel. This proposed story sounds like it could have some wonderful possibilities. As for Will and Elizabeth not returning I think it's a saving grace. There will be no one to replace Kiera and Orlando because their characters will no longer be in the movies! =]
Think of it this way, the first three movies were just an arch in what could be an unfathomably large story line. Those 3 movies covered what...an entire two or three years? Woo for Pirates 4!

Awesome definitley bring us a Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Jack Sparrow is the greatest pirate and even if elizabeth swann is not there it would be great to have a movie about Jack and Barbossa working together. The Pirates of the Caribbean 4, wouldn't be a good movie at all if Johnny Depp doesn't play Jack Sparrow. No one else could ever play the part of Jack Sparrow as well as Johnny Depp. As far as Davy Jones bring him back as a ghost but if not then bring some other pirates in the movie to face Jack and Barbossa. But no matter what Jack Sparrow makes the Pirates of the Caribbean the movie that it is.
yes they totally should do a pirates of the caribbean 4! i sounds like a lot of you don't like the whole will and elizabeth thing....but i love them and i would be really sad if they weren't in it! i mean they have to find a way to get will or of the flying dutchmen so that he can be with elizabeth and their child. then fine if you wanted them out after that i could accept that because we would know the ending to their story. i'd still be sad though because i really like orlando bloom :D and keira knightly.
I begged for the 4th part of pirates,i hoped that they will shoot another pirate movie,but I'm disappointed now.It may be good as the other parts,but i don't know what to think.The title is great and all but whit Elizabeth,Will and Davy Jones gone, will it be the same?And not to mention the release date!Are they crazy?!!!!Do they want us to die here?!!!!I will then have 14 years!Maybe i will lose my interest for pirates until then!I don't know,but I'm still mad at Disney!
Pirates of the Caribbean is my favorite movie trilogy and I want it to continue. I'm so glad Johnny and the writers thought so too! I'm glad Kiera and Orlando aren't coming back. They weren't pirates anyway and I hated their drama! Jack is who makes the movie!and Barbossa is pretty awesome too! I agree with the "lady sparrow" idea. The fourth one should have like a long lost daughter of Jack's in it. The mother could be some lady from Tortuga or maybe even a siren. (You know, those ladies in the water who seduce men and make them wreck their ships!)And maybe the sirens guard the Fountain of Youth and when Jack goes there, they find out about each other.Then, she goes back with him or something, cause she doesn't like her life as a siren. It's just an idea! But no matter what, I'm sure I'll love it!!
They need to put will and elizabeth in the fourth pirates movie because you can't make a movie without them.They need to save will turner so he can be with elizabeth and to do that you need them in the movie.

I love Johnny Depp. He is the character that makes the movie funny and the reason the public comes to watch. Orlando and Keira are terrible actors! I could do a better job as his long lost daughter! I just hope that the public can wait until 2012, as JD will be pushing 50!
PotC IS Jack Sparrow.. as long as Johnny Depp returns as our beloved Captain and continues his BRILLIANT performance of said Captain, the Movie will be a HIT. Jack has always been the MAIN character... whether they take us forward or back thru Jack's history it will make for swashbuckling excitement and fun. SAVVY?
whatever you do bring keira nightly and orlando back in the fourth not that johnny is not the star with his swagger on screen but they too also play an important role as well so if you have to pay her more do so cause falling off the course of the prior events. with that said dont make it good , make it great like the first three. if not in the fourth then bring them back in the fifth...seriously!
Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is coming to movie theaters on May 25th, 2012 Friday, Its soundtrack is coming out on may 22nd, 2012 tuesday, its movie trailer is coming out on march 19th, 2012 monday at midnight on the night of that date and time, its dvd and blu ray disc are coming out on december 4th, 2012 tuesday!. There will also get be a pirates of the caribbean 5 and 6 in possible like 2014 and 2016 !.
Without Kiera and Bloom the movie would suck. They are two of the actors\actresses that make the pirates of the caribbeans the movie we all love. if its about money, i say give them as much as they want. BRING THEM BAK!!!!!!!!

Pirates there are so many possibilities...The Spanish and French colonies, supernatural characters, or compitition against other pirates such as Black Beard. Sure he isn't Davy Jones...but Black Beard was the original terror of the seas....Just some ideas, never know which direction Disney will take the movie.....
Oh yes, there needs be a 4th. I am glad to know that Johnny will be back. I may be older but watching these have turned back the time for me. I will miss Orlando, they made a good pair and they could do it with out Kiera. After all it won't be his 10 years for land.
I for one am excited about POTC4 even if Elizabeth, Will and Davy Jones are no longer in the story line. That really wrapped up anyway. It's Jack's elusive persuit of the Black Pearl that keeps this adventure going. Will he get his ship back or will it set sail without him again?
i just can't wait for potc4! it might be a little boring because they might overdo it and Bloom and Knightly have a big role which is over now that they can't do it. and the 3D is going overboard(no pun intended). but it might still be a good movie. all you have to do is wait 3 years for it to come out!

I'm quite angry actually...I'm excited for a new movie, but without Will and Elizabeth...I'm not sure. All I know is that a prequal should happen because I want to know how in the first place Barbossa became a Pirate Lord to begin with when he was origanlly Jack's firstmate! Other then that...I wish that James Norrington hadn't died. Personally I love the guy!
To My fellow Corsairs fans out there pirates have always been searching for new adventures and somekind of secret Treasures, never knowing who they meet. so yes i myself cant' wait for captain Jack take us to the next one!!! 2012 is alittle far from now but it will be worth the wait !!!
A fourth "Pirates" movie is excellent! I love the concept of jack and Barbossa meeting in New Orleans...the New Orleans scenes from Interview With a Vampire will support that. I think that reviving Calypso would be good as well...alhtough she exploded into crabs, it is apparent that she can take a human form as implied by her relationship with Davie Jones. Orlando has to come back...Davy Jones needs to be somehow involved in the whole thing. I think references to Keira can be made...perhaps him reliving their honeymoon would be enough...Keira could do that cameo scene without a full commitment to the project. Unless the plot includes some of these ideas that could be spun into a fifth movie, I think some type of closure to the franchise should be begun...after all, pirates died out after a time. Also to be dealt with is the fact that Jack and Barbossa being alive again...can they die again after being brought back from the dead?

Since Kiera Nightly and Orlando Bloom will not be in the 4th movies anymore, they should be replaced by no ones, using them names and play them roles otherwise the sequel will become...hm...the unsequel
Ok look at this right, at the end of potc:3 elizibeth and her son are on the island and will is sailing towards them right? This obviously happens 10 YEARS after the end of potc:3, 10 YEARS after capn Jack sailed of in his dingy in pursuit of the black pearl. Think about it.......
I think that Keira Knightly is being undoubtably selfish. I hope she reads this because she is not wanted or needed to come back. good riddance. As for Orlando, it is way easy to have him and his son come back to the movie without Elizabeth Swan. Just kill her off.
Jack Sparrow rocks i mean Captin Jack Sparrow. The movies have been awesome, but it would be a shame if all the actors and actresses didn't return.I'm looking forward to see the next movie in a few years.
my son Randy was diagnosed with Lukemia at the age of 7. Pirates Of The Carrribean has been such a beakon of hope for him. To have that entertainment has kept us through this whole thing. I cannot bare to tell him that Elizabeth Swan And Will Turner will not be returning. Please consider coming back!!!!! thanks for your time.
There should be a spinoff of jack sparrow starting from the meeting of his crew to his abandonment from barbossa.
I think that just having jack, barbosa and gibbs on the movie is going to be a bit boring. to be honest i dont think its worth watching without keira and orlando in it
I am happy to find out that they might be cutting Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly! The movie started to switch from pirates to love romance how boring! When I hear Pirates I think Johnny Deep anyway so the other two are just sidekicks with little acting experience!
for starters do we really need a fourth pirates movie? dnt get me wrong, my P.O.C dvds dont work due to overuse but do u think we may be flogging a dead horse? and secondly i dnt think it will be the dame without orlando bloom and keira knightley. that all said im sure if they produce P.O.C 4 i will go see it :)

I love Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm glad Elizaceth and Will won't be in it, too. I don't really like them. Jack Sparrow is awesome, and it's so cool that they're making a movie all about him.
I would love to see that. POTC is my favorite. I'm obsessed! I have all the movies play the game and I hope it is good and will bring an addition to POTCO! The movie would be boring with will because he will be sailing the seas forever without land. thats LAME! Barbossa is my favorite anyway! im still watching the first trilogy over and over. It would make sense to make another movie without will and elizabeth. They are left as a happy ending what is there left to say about them. Then you got jack and barbosa who have a new journey to fulfill. It will take off.
It would be great if the cast stayed just as it is, as someone already said. "it's going to be like the beginning again if the characters are different". Each of the actors are absolutely perfect in their roles, it would be such a shame to have to change what i feel is a perfect balance.
I was excited to hear that there was going to be a 4th movie. However, now that I have learned that Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly wont be involved it seems useless to me. I am very disappointed and don't think there is a point in there being a 4th movie.
i think the idea of making a fourth is just stupid. the first was the best, the second was just "ok" and the third was just too far-fetched and weird. and as for changing the cast like that? if your going to drag out and already ruined series like this one, leave the cast as is. the only good actors are johnny depp and the guy whos always drunk. they should have just stopped at one....

I can not wait, come on disney make our dreams come true when we wish apon a star, give us more of what we adore,(hopefully before 2012" cuz thats like the real worlds end, acording to some and that's madding'ly un'helpfull) Im not worried about his adventure's, or who is going or not going to be with him, it's disney and hollywood they know how to write movie's and im sure it will be just fine! (savvy) I will watch every movie they put out and most likely buy also, being as I own the first 3, as long as Captain Jack is johnny depp, there is no other! will and fair lizabeth have done their time, he is going to be fairying the dead for 10 yr's at a time and she is going to be taking care of their son, it's time to move on from that, not saying that cant bump into eachother now and again out at sea, jack and will and what not's, but the movie's are about Captain Jack Sparrow and his adventure's, im excited to see the new friends he is going to make if you can call them that,and were he is going to go, but most of all im just excited to see Captain Jack Sparrow again.
The PotC 5 prequel aught to be the final outing, PotC 4 without with out Orlando and knightly might be problematic, perhaps a cameo role in PotC 4 where the aged knightly joins Orlando’s crew and regains her youth would satisfy the purists and still give Captain Jack Sparrow the lead his character be worthy of arhh. To ensure that PotC 4 is the last run for the crew, their ends must be fully disclosed, due to the fountain of youth they, the crew, now reside in various theme parks around the globe. I saw Jack’s eyes move last November at Disneyworld, animatronics, maybe not.
I think kiera and orland should be in it or if it is just going to be about pirates just orlando, I mean he can live forever now and he is a pirate if they want this sequel to work will elizabeth need to be in it with their son!
The first movie was all about Will and his love for Elizabeth and what he would do to save her (he would die for her). The first movie was also all about Jack and his love for his Pearl and what he would do to get her back (He chased her relentlessly for ten years). In the end of COTBP, Will got Elizabeth, and Jack got the Pearl. Now THAT'S a love story!
After the journey of the 2nd and 3rd, the story of Will AND Elizabeth is pretty much told. They married, have a child, etc., etc. Keira doesn't need to come back.
BUT, Will is now a man of the sea, and immortal, and the Captain of the Dutchman.
I do think the 4th needs a new direction. Definitely!
Lots to explore in that era concerning pirates. I say a fantastic new ride with Jack, Barbossa, crew, and Will and his crew. Will doesn't need Elizabeth to come back. She's home with their son and quite content (as her face showed at the end of 3) and Will is at sea.
Two out of three principle actors is good. The interaction of Jack, Will, and Barbossa made COTBP AWESOME.
If there's no Orlando Bloom/Will Turner what good is it.
A 4th installment of POTC would be great, but it doesn't have to continue the Will/Elizabeth story so closely. A brief mention of them, etc..would be enough, then let the main focus be on Jack and all his new adventures. As a pirate, he will always be searching for treasure and if the next one is the Fountain Of Youth, it would be cool. Capt. Jack needs a real romance as well. Someone he meets unexpectedly..she could be the daughter of a pirate lord or a beauty who is hiding a secret about her past. Anything is poosible, as long as the story line makes sense.
To not have keira and orland in the 4 movie would be utterly stupid.... You might as well get rid of jack sparrow too... Everyone knew that there was going to be a fourth when sparrow read the map. I am 52 years old and I have taken 13 year olds to see all that have been made. To not finish with the original crew would not be the same. And now that the kids know that these two great actors are not there, the kids say it will not be worth it to go see it. I just hope that you can tell miss knightly and mr. bloom to please come back. You have fans, who will miss you dearly. How very sad........ From someone who enjoyed the first three.
What's going to happen with the kid?? I what I think should happen is after jack gets to the fountain it should go into a Reyes later thing so that the son of will can sale with jack or something like that

I think a Pirates without Will and Elizabeth will leave more room for Jack and thats all I really care about! They have too much going on between them to include them because if this is the final, it should be all about Jack! I hope Barbossa's in it though because they're hilarious together!
