The official movie synopsis of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 has been revealed by Disney:

Plot:
"In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love–or if she's a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past."

Pirates of the Caribbean On Strangers Tides Movie

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed that Actress Penelope Cruz would be on board for the movie Pirates of the Caribbean On Strangers Tides. And he's been quite talkative, he even revealed a few plot details of Pirates of The Caribbean 4:

So Geoffrey Rush is back as Captain Hector Barbossa, but he won't be the main villain: Sparrow will meet a new nemesis called Blackbeard (Ian McShane) who's the nastiest pirate ever! And from what leaked online previously, Blackbeard would be a kind of Captain Nemo utilizing some new-style technology.

Penelope Cruz is playing the role of Blackbeard's Daughter. This new character brings a lot of humor to it. And the fact that she's so feisty. Fans will like to know that there will be a little romance between Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow and the character that Penelope plays.

Walt Disney Pictures unveiled the official title of Pirates of the Caribbean 4 at Disney’s D23 expo. Drum roll:
It's Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides.

Let's hope that more official details about Pirates of the Carribean 4 On Stranger Tides will be released soon!

Update: Director Gore Verbinski is replaced by Rob Marshall who's now helming the project based on a script by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. Filming of Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides will start in Summer 2010 in Hawaii. So Disney should keep be in time for the announced release date of Pirate of the Caribbean 4 on May 20, 2011.

We have some new details about Pirates of the Caribbean 4:

"We're going to shoot Pirates 4 in April and May of next year. We are going to release it hopefully in 2011. Pirates 4 would hopefully be the first of another trilogy."

Also thanks to Hollywood Elsewhere, via one of their trustworthy sources, we got confirmation of the Fountain of Youth plot with Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) looking for the legendary fountain. And it seems that a new villain who's a kind of Captain Nemo utilizing new-style technology will be introduced.

It's not yet clear though if Director Gore Verbinski is returning: Disney wants to scale down the movie budget, so it's not sure Verbinski would come back..

Well I really hope they start filming asap so we may watch the movie Pirates of the Caribbean 4 in 2011.

Pirates of The Caribbean 4 in 2011 Johnny Depp is back as Jack Sparrow

Walt Disney Pictures succeeded in both reviving the pirate movie genre and creating a successful franchise with Pirates of The Caribbean. So no wonder they don't want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs and try to reap as much profit as they can from it.

That's why it has been decided to produce Pirates of The Caribbean 4. The movie is slated for a 2012 release. Update: the movie Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is now scheduled for a release in 2011!

Quite sad we have to wait so long but I bet it will be worth it!

Let's try to see what to expect from Pirates of the Caribbean 4:

MOVIE DIRECTOR OF PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4


Director Gore Verbinski, who was in charge of the first three opus of Pirates of the Caribbean. He is still attracted to the idea of using modern technology to resurrect a genre that had disappeared after the Golden Age of Hollywood. But he does want Pirates of the Caribbean 4 to be a let down movie, he was quoted saying:

"[...] the big danger is diminishing the brand [...] it would have to be a tale worthy of telling"

And for him to return he noted that

"I would start fresh and focus on the further adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow."

Director Gore Verbinski has not yet confirmed his commitment but I'm quite sure he will be attached to the fourth Pirates of the Caribbeans movie one way or anoter.

It has been reported that Keira Knightley does not wish to continue playing her character of Elizabeth Swann, she prefers to commit to different projects.


About Orlando Bloom who had the role of Will Turner: well, if Keira Knightley does not come back the dude is useless. Actually I'd rather not see him come back: it will be more time on screen for Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow!



Johnny Depp has officially signed on for Pirates of the Caribbean in September 2008. I am so glad he is back as the pirate Jack Sparrow! I agree with Director Gore Verbinski: Pirates of The Caribbean 4 should focus on Jack Sparrow. I really like this facetious character: if it was not Johnny Depp's performance I doubt the Pirates of the Caribbean would have ever taken off to the box office.

PLOT OF PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4

No details of the plot officially announced yet. But according to the book The Art of the Pirates of the Caribbean, the proposed story for the fourth film was for Sparrow and Barbossa to meet up in the newly founded New Orleans, Louisiana, before they sail to find the Fountain of Youth together.

One may imagine that he's getting bored on his ghost ship and tries to explore new horizons but would need the help of the fountain of youth to survive...

Nothing confirmed yet though, the plot may still be completely different!


Really hope Walt Disney Pictures will carry out this project: Pirates of The Caribbean 4 must be produced for the fans!
